Hey all, while we have been away for a month and their are things that need to be typed up and said, this will be done soon hopefully. We are currently in Romania, and after East European Comic Con finishes, we soon leave Bucharest and go round the rest of Romania before moving on. EECC was great, and we hope to go to more conventions in the future, was nice to know Jason Momoa and Natalia Tena have hitch-hiked in the past, and wish it was possible to know more about their experiences.
So don't fret, while the blog may seem dead, it is not, and more importantly, we are not, all will be updated soon.

Slowly, nervously, but shirley
With about fifty-ish days to go, things are getting their, but all still feels far off. While passports have been applied for, last minute buys, lots of selling, and packing still to do. We have handed in our notice for the flat and started the vaccinations, and everyone in our place of works knows we are leaving, yet...still...doesn't feel like anything is truly happening. I currently wait for my ipod to sync before going to work and I feel we have so much still to do in such little time. I fear we won't be ready, and we will be leaving something not done, something missing.

82 jours
So with 82 days to go, and despite having quite a lot of things already got, not a lot of things are ready. We still need to get vaccinations, new passports, Kalina obviously can't get hers till after the ceremony on the 30th January. We need new direct debit card, one to last 5 years instead of the usual 3, don't know how this will plan out. We also need to apply for a credit card, so if something happens when we are away, we have this card to get us where we have to go in an emergency. Also our phones we were financing, so we need to pay them off, I am supposed to be taking my ukulele with us to play and busk, I don't know any songs, I need to practice, is hard working so much and then sorting other things out at home when I get here. Still a few more items to buy to take with us, sort our stuff out fully to sell, throw and pack away.
As for our route, or the start of it let's say. We will start straight from Inverness, and head south, planning a couple of visits on the way, to some friends on the outskirts of London, Kalina's sister, maybe my grandparents too. We still aren't too sure on getting accross the channel, thinking probably try and hitch the tunnel, and see how that plays out, if that doesn't work after two days we can try in Dover for a lift on the ferry. After wards we will try and go to Neuschwanstein castle in Bavaria, Germany, as Kalina has always wanted to go. After that we will try and go to a village just south of Munich where I stayed at a flat once a friend has and left some stuff there, I will see if I can pick it up and take it with us, our next stop, if, which at the moment, isn't happening, and if Kalina allows it, is to go to Berlin and see 65daysofstatic play live, they are playing their first album in full as well as another set. After this we will go to Kalina's parents where we will stay, and celebrate easter, my first Polish easter :s , and Kalina will apply for a Polish passport, while waiting for that, we will head to Bucharest, Romania, where we have tickets to go to the East-Europe Comic-Con, we are very excited. After this weekend event, we may go straight back to Poland or go through Moldova then Ukraine, where I have a friend who is willing to let us stay at his, and we can see a country we love so much one last time for awhile. Eventually we will collect Kalina's passport and head South, we are not too sure which countries exactly, or how long for, or anything like that. This trip, is not for these choices, this trip is for a whatever ideal.

It is official
When we thought about doing this trip, we thought about how much visas and such would cost for Kalina, and since she has been in the UK over five years. It was decided she would apply to become a British citizen. This was a long process involving a lot of waiting, lots of forms, a test and even going down to Edinburgh, can't forget costing at least £1000 with everything combined. So, yesterday, in the post, we got the letter, to see if Kalina would be British or not, and it was a yes. The joys after such a long and nerve wrecking wait, the decision that could change so much for our trip and leaving date.
This means that on the 1st of April 2014, Kalina and I will start our trip, leaving Inverness behind, and working our way to Poland, more on the start of our route in another post. This is just to say about Kalinas great achievement and we will definitely be leaving at the end of March.
Whooooo fuckin hooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first one of many
Hello all, this is our first post in our new blog. This blog is for us to dribble and ramble on about our exploits and plans for the world. During the year of 2013 some point, I had the idea of looking at a map and seeing how easy it would be to hitch across land. Seeing it wasn't so hard I showed Kalina, and we agreed that this would be our plan. So we looked more into it and this would be our goal, during 2014 at some point, we would leave, on a hitch hiking trip around the world.
For now we have got the majority of our supplies, a lot more important things need done though, such as visa stuffs, jabs amd up to date passports, a credit card and a few other things. So the next few weeks and months before we go, we hope we can give more information on some kind of route, direction, leaving date, plans on how to surivive on the road, what we are taking and all other things like that.
